তখন লোকরা উত্তর দেবে, ‘কারণ ইস্রায়েলের লোকরা প্রভুকে, তাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের ঈশ্বরকে, যিনি তাদের মিশর থেকে উদ্ধার করেছিলেন, তাঁকে পরিত্যাগ করেছে| তারা অন্য মূর্ত্তিসমূহের পূজো করে ও তাদের সেবা করে তাদের গ্রহণ করেছে| এই কারণে প্রভু তাদের ওপরে এই ভয়ঙ্কর এবং আতঙ্কজনক শাস্তি এনে দিয়েছেন|”

And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.

People will say, 'This happened because they left the Lord their God. He brought their ancestors out of Egypt, but they decided to follow other gods. They began to worship and to serve those gods. That is why the Lord caused all these bad things to happen to them.'"
